Hard Ready

Hard Ready is a unique course that was designed to address THE single most important, and non variable component to conflict: Emotional preparedness. Much the same way that we improve ourselves physically, via progressive resistance, we use the same principles to improve ourselves emotionally. To begin to understand Hard Ready, it is imperative to make a fundamental distinction and perhaps a minor correction. Everyone is accustomed to hearing the term "Mental Toughness," but if you delve into the meaning of the phrase, it is not altogether accurate. During times of duress and or conflict, ones mental faculties are not tested. Largely, mental processes remain the same. During these times, it is the emotional processes that are vetted; the "feelings" that we attach to the particular event or events manifest as opposed to mentalness.

Hard Ready uses a series of dietary restrictions and a progressive physical training regiment to tap into ones habits and decision making. At the most seminal level, the habits that we entertain on every day, simple things like what we choose to eat and whether or not we choose to exercise, actually is a gateway to gaining unlimited self control and self mastery. Thus, if one cannot control small daily decisions, in times of more intense nervous system responses (ie. conflict), that person will be far less prepared to deal with higher levels of arousal and stress.

Hard Ready is also very much about addressing our own personal habits and modifying them in small, progress ways to create a compounding effect concerning overall self sovereignty. Ultimately, the ability to control ones emotions is the single most important variable in any situation. A strong connection is made between physical exertion, more specially interval training and the demands placed on human beings under heavy levels of stress. Supplementary reading is also a strong component of the course.

The classroom activities of the Hard Ready Program are designed to harden emotional resolve but also to address the emotional dynamic that pervades actual altercations. Pre-Emptive Striking is the foundation of the actual "fighting" part of the program, though "support system" lessons delve further into the physical anatomy of fighting. A great focus is also put on the most effective fighting systems including Wrestling, Boxing, Muay Thai and BJJ.
